Should I apply visa from Taiwan while our cruise plans to visit two harbor cities total less than 48 hrs?
the ship leaves off New York and visit some harbors along Atlantic Ocean. I am not a US citizen. From web page it seems that if short stay less than 48 hours in Canada, no visa application is needed. So, two visits together less than 48 hours, I should not need to apply for a formal visa from Canada. Isn't it? I need authentic answer to solve the puzzle. Thanks.
First of all, I will assume that you are citizen of Taiwan.
Second, I will assume you do not have green card.
In this case according to CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada), Taiwan citizen require a Visa to VISIT or TRANSIT Canada.

You will need a transit visa even if you stop in Canada for less than 48 hours.

Call the cruise! They will confirm it.
Please make sure you got multiple entries when you need to enter Canada more than once.

They do not require a visa to visit Canada.
Or else you must be from the following countries:
