Art Linkletter autographs bring back fond memories of a wonderful time in television.
Linkletter was a radio announcer from Canada and an American television personality. His daytime television shows were very popular and its format served as a forerunner for modern television talk shows. At one time Linkletter had five shows running simultaneously on television. This record remains as the record for having the most number of television shows by one man running at the same time.
His television show "House Party," was one of his most popular television shows. This program was television's longest running daytime variety show, airing on CBS from 1952 through 1969. Linkletter generously signed autographs for his many guests and their families. Linkletter responded to autograph requests through the mail by sending autographed photos. Most photos with his signature have the autograph "Art Linkletter".
Linkletter was also a prolific author. His 1957 book "Kids Say the Darndest Things" was a bestseller. Most of the material for his books were derived from his television shows and described humorous interaction with children. Linkletter also wrote several inspirational biographies. Linkletter's book signing were well-attended with hundreds of people requesting his autograph at each event.
Autographs dating to Linkletter's presence at the opening of Disneyland in 1955 are treasured by autograph collectors. Linkletter operated a camera and film concession in Disneyland for many years. Linkletter was also an astute businessman who operated dozens of successful businesses and became very wealthy in the process. On occasion checks and business documents signed as "Arthur Linkletter" appear on the autograph market.
Linkletter operated his businesses as Linkletter Enterprises. In addition to writing books, Linkletter also received a lucrative income for speaking engagements across America. Linkletter generously provided his autograph to any attendee that came to hear him speak. Linkletter invested his money in a variety of investments that included mines, mobile storage facilities, stocks, and real estate.
Linkletter once said that attitude determines changes that occur outside of life. Linkletter believed that having a positive attitude could only lead to positive outcomes. Art Linkletter autographs represent a tribute to optimism.
